DPMM FC’s Hougang United match postponed (2020)

DPMM FC’s wait for their first league match since the opening game of the season in the Singapore Premier League (SPL) continues after their clash against Hougang United at the Hougang Stadium in Singapore this Sunday was postponed.

In a media statement, the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) said that it is still working with the club for their travel and logistical arrangements to Singapore.

Jiu-Jitsu, eSports named for next year’s 31st SEA Games (2020)

Jiu-Jitsu and eSports, two sports which have seen an emergence in Brunei, are included in the proposed list for the 31st Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Hanoi, Vietnam next year.

The martial arts and electronic sports have garnered a strong interest in the local and international scene in recent times. The growing number of Jiu-Jitsu medallists including a gold medallist in Jakarta last year showed proof that the sport is on the rise both in the recreational and competitive scene.

Community coaching course to develop futsal trainers (2020)

Gol Brasil Futsal Institute (GBFI) of Brunei Darussalam continued their efforts to produce capable futsal coaches following the commencement of the Gol Brasil Futsal Community Coaching Course for Level 1 at the Parkview Hotel in Kampong Jerudong on Friday.

The second intake of the two-day course, which ends next Friday, is divided into theory and practical sessions.

BSKA affiliates with national Karate Federation (2020)

The Brunei Shotokan Karate Association (BSKA) has announced their official affiliation with the Brunei Darussalam Karate Federation (BRUKAF), which will see more collaboration and recognition for BSKA activities by the national federation.

Moving forward, BSKA aims to invest in their youth to produce quality karate athletes who will represent Brunei Darussalam in regional and international tournaments.

The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) will implement strict protocols to ensure the safety of match-day personnel during the remaining matches in the AIA Singapore Premier League (SPL) for the 2020 season.

The Singapore Premier League will resume tomorrow after nearly seven months of enforced break due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
