Fencing has found a new home after a group of fencers attended the sport’s latest training session at the Menglait Sports Complex on Monday.

Brunei Darussalam’s promising fencers embarked the latest chapter of their competitive training journey following relocation from their base at the fencing hall at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium.

Archery training has resumed in Brunei with health and safety protocols in place.

The sport initially returned during the earlier stages of the de-escalation plan but with limited capacity and attendance following months of widespread closure of sports facilities due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

COVID-19 Brunei: Track and field athletes resume training (2020)

Track and field is one of the latest sports to resume training activities at outdoor sports facilities with strict health and safety protocols in place in accordance with the latest Ministry of Health’s (MoH) guidelines.

The country’s athletes completed several laps around the track during a training session at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium since the resumption of competitive training on Thursday.

COVID-19 Brunei_De-escalation: Training allowed in group of 10, swimming pools increase capacity (2020)

Team sports received the green light to train in a group not exceeding 10 people with the exchange or mixing of players allowed under the updated guidelines of the fourth phase of the de-escalation plan announced on Wednesday.

Under the revised guidelines for gyms, fitness centres and indoor and sports facilities, team sports activities which involve physical contact and sharing of equipment are allowed at a minimum.

Taekwondo joined the latest line of martial art sports to resume training activities at indoor sports facilities in the country with health and safety protocols in place.

Three taekwondo members attended a session at the Menglait Sports Complex on Monday while another group also trained earlier this month.
