Amirah finishes 17th in Youth Olympic Games

BRUNEI Darussalam’s runner Nurul Amirah binti Karim finished the women’s 1500m event in 17th place out of 18 entries in the 3rd Summer Youth Olympic Games (YOG) in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The middle-distance running specialist clocked a time of 21:00 to finish in 52nd place out of 56 athletes in the women’s cross country event having finished in 18th place with a time of 6:38.18s in the 1500m heats in the first stage.

EIGHT players advanced to the next stage of the Brunei National 6 Red Snooker Championship 2018 last night at the Billiards and Snooker Hall II of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas.

In Group A, Haji Md Haikal edged Hasrijan 3-2 to set up a meeting with Pengiran Zaini who beat Abdul Rahim 3-1.

PSJD preserved a clean sheet for the second successive match after a comfortable 4-0 win over Azam FT in Group ‘C’ of the Al Idrus Football League Championship at the Tutong Sports Complex recently.

LOCAL powerboat racer Mohammad Yusrin bin Haji Ramlee triumphed at the Regatta Boat Race meet in Kampong Balan, Dalat in Sarawak on October 13.

Mohammad Yusrin, from the Powerboat Association of Brunei Darussalam (PBLBD), joined the Onnes Joe-Han Racing team (Sarawak) and won the below 50 horse-power engine category.
