Seminar sheds light on latest karate competition rules (2020)

The Brunei Darussalam Karate Federation (BRUKAF) held the first-ever BRUKAF Technical Seminar 2020 at the Mercury Hall of Star Lodge Hotel in Jerudong recently.

The seminar aimed to disseminate the latest World Karate Federation (WKF) kata and kumite competition rules to its members and to make sure BRUKAF technical officers comprising national referees, judges, coaches and clubs’ instructors understand and apply the rules accordingly.

Alpha Challenge 2020 in ‘hunters’ edition (2020)

D’Sunlit Sdn Bhd is collaborating with the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT) in organising The Alpha Challenge 2020 for the Brunei December Festival (BDF), themed ‘Legend of the Hunters’.

The Alpha Challenge 2020 comprises two events – a virtual hike dubbed the Hill Hunters Edition and an obstacles race known as the Tide Hunters Edition.

Brunei archers compete in virtual regional meet (2020)

Brunei Darussalam archers recently competed in the Nightmare LMA Challenge 2020 organised by the Lagenda Memanah Al-Kelantani, based in Kelantan, Malaysia.

Archery clubs from Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia took part in the competition in their countries, with scores compiled online.

PERSIB discusses future plans (2020)

The Brunei Darussalam Pencak Silat Federation (PERSIB) held a dialogue session with sports councils and teaching bodies to discuss 2021 activities at the Lecture Hall of Sports School in Berakas on Sunday.

Members were briefed on the new regulations for next year’s competitions involving teaching associations.

Rodney Lim Teck Guan championed the Under-20 School Holiday Chess Blitz after topping a field of 24 entries with a score of 7.5 points at the Brunei Chess Centre of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex on Sunday.

Abdul Zahirul Haq finished runners-up after collecting 6.5 points, while Wong Tze Yoong placed third.
