COVID-19 Brunei_De-escalation: Training allowed in group of 10, swimming pools increase capacity (2020)

Team sports received the green light to train in a group not exceeding 10 people with the exchange or mixing of players allowed under the updated guidelines of the fourth phase of the de-escalation plan announced on Wednesday.

Under the revised guidelines for gyms, fitness centres and indoor and sports facilities, team sports activities which involve physical contact and sharing of equipment are allowed at a minimum.

Taekwondo joined the latest line of martial art sports to resume training activities at indoor sports facilities in the country with health and safety protocols in place.

Three taekwondo members attended a session at the Menglait Sports Complex on Monday while another group also trained earlier this month.

Dash Football Academy marked a significant milestone in accelerating the progress of football through technology after becoming the first football academy in Brunei Darussalam to develop a mobile application.

President of National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) Pengiran Haji Matusin bin Pengiran Haji Matasan launched the mobile app at the NFABD House on Sunday.

Pencak silat has been added to the list as one of the sports to resume training activities at indoor sports facilities in accordance with the latest health and safety guidelines.

The country’s elite exponents underwent training at the Menglait Sports Complex with the latest training session for the artistic discipline held on Friday afternoon under the tutelage of a coach.

Wushu became one of the sports in Brunei Darussalam to resume training activities at indoor sports facilities with health and safety protocols in place in accordance with the latest guidelines.

The country’s elite athletes have reported for training at the multi-purpose hall of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex with the latest training session held on Thursday.
