THIRTEEN national netball players left the country yesterday to compete in the 2019 Arafura Games in Darwin, Australia to be held from today until May 4.

Present to see off the delegation at the Brunei International Airport was Permanent Secretary (Administration, Finance and Estate) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) Pengiran Mohammad Amirrizal bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud.

BRUNEI DST Super League outfit Kasuka FC are currently in Malaysia to take part in a post-season tour against league teams from April 24-28.

Kasuka FC began their Malaysian tour with a narrow 1-0 loss to Felda United Under-21s at the Felda Training Centre, Bandar Baru Bangi on Wednesday.

PENGIRAN Roslannie bin Pengiran Haji Jumat of Brunei’s Chainblock Gym asserted his dominance in the regional scene after he emerged as champion in the Badang Borneo Challenge in Limbang, Sarawak recently.

His countryman Muhd Azhar bin Azman, who also represented the same gym, secured second place in the same competition.

NINE members of the Brunei Darussalam contingent comprising four athletes and five officials left the country on Tuesday to take part in the 2019 Arafura Games in Darwin, Australia, which will be held from April 26 to May 4.

Christian Nikles and Nur Haziq Samil will take part in the swimming event alongside two para athletes who will compete in athletics.
