HIS Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen officially launched the Butra HeidelbergCement (BHC) Brunei Championships 2019 at the Royal Berkshire Hall of the Royal Brunei Polo and Riding Club in Jerudong on Tuesday.

Also present were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah, Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Muda Abdul Hakeem, Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Muda Bahar and other members of the royal family.

BRUNEI Darussalam’s national sprinter Muhammad Noor Firdaus Ar-Rasyid bin Haji Mohd Idris broke his personal best record twice in the men’s 100m of the 23rd Asian Athletics Championships at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha, Qatar.

The short distance running specialist first accomplished a new personal best in his heat with a time of 10.61s before bettering the record in the subsequent semi-final stage with a time of 10.60s, just 0.01 shy of the national record held by Mohammad Fakhri bin Ismail.

DPMM FC head coach Adrian Pennock hailed the character of his charges after responding to Warriors FC’s second-half comeback with two late strikes during a 4-2 win in the AIA Singapore Premier League at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas last Sunday.

“We showed a lot of character tonight (on Sunday). Everything you want in football, excitement, six goals and more importantly we got the three points,” Pennock told the media.

The charity event, in support of Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam, was organised by the Royal Brunei Polo Association in collaboration with Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam.
