Brunei appointed as Asean School Sports Council President

VIETNAM as the President of the Asean Schools Sports Council (ASSC) for the 2016-2017 period has handed over the presidency to Brunei Darussalam for a two-year period from 2018 to 2019 at a ceremony held at Marriot Tang Plaza, Singapore on Friday. Present as the representative of the Minister of Education was Datin Paduka Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Md Salleh, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Education who in turn gave a speech.

Also present were Hajah Anis Faudzulani binti Haji Dzulkiflee, Acting Director General of Education and Haji Azis bin Haji Nayan, Acting Director of Co-Curriculum Education Department who is also in Singapore as Chef De Mission for the Brunei Darussalam Sports School Council Contingent (MSSBD) at the 9th Asean Schools Games in Singapore.

The handing over of ASSC post led to the handing over of the ASSC flag by Nguyen Thi Nghia, Deputy Minister of Education and Training of Vietnam to Datin Paduka Dr Hajah Romaizah.

Prior to ASSC’s handing over of flag to Brunei Darussalam, 71st ASSC Technical Meeting Meeting was held and continued with 54th ASSC Management Meeting.
