Prince Sufri witnesses MoU signing to boost nation’s football development (2019)

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah, the President of the National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) witnessed the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between NFABD and Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) on Tuesday.

RB as the Official Airline for NFABD will be supporting with special fares for the players and officials on official duties.

Signing on behalf of RB were its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Karam Chand and RB’s Chief Commercial Officer Martin Aeberli. Signing on behalf of NFABD were its Executive Committee Pengiran Haji Aliudin bin Pengiran Haji Tajudin and NFABD General Secretary Pengiran Anak Sofian bin Pengiran Anak Haji Ibrahim. Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah in his capacity as the Chairman of RB Board of Directors, was also present.

Chand said that through this partnership, RB extends support to the national team to compete in world games and contribute to the development of football in Brunei, especially among its youth.

“We trust this partnership will help our players to gain more exposure when they compete internationally and assist them to excel in their chosen field.

“We also want to encourage young Bruneians to be inspired by both brands – the national football team and RB who compete on the global stage in a very competitive field of many well-resourced and strong competitors,” he added.

The NFABD General Secretary said that the agreement is another milestone reached by NFABD. “We are greatly honoured and appreciate the effort and trust given by RB. We hope with this memorandum, we will be connected with the rest of the footballing world and thus expand our wings,” he added.
