Crown Prince joins Singapore league title winners DPMM FC for group photo (2019)

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, and the Chairman of Brunei DPMM FC, joined the players as well as members of the management and the coaching staff for a group photo with the Singapore Premier League championship trophy at the Jerudong Mini Stadium on Thursday.

Vice Chairman of Brunei DPMM FC Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Maharaja Setia Laila Diraja Sahibul Irshad Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Rahim bin Pengiran Indera Mahkota Pengiran Anak (Dr) Kemaludin Al-Haj was also present.

With the Singapore Premier League title proudly on display, His Royal Highness took separate photos with every member of the DPMM FC squad as well as the club’s management.

Later, His Royal Highness also took a separate group photo with members of the club management and coaching staff, especially individuals who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes in ensuring the success of the team this season.

Under the tutelage and guidance of head coach Adrian Pennock, the Gegar Gegar men won the prestigious championship title for a second time in their history, having first tasted triumph in 2015.

The Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas was considered a fortress for visiting teams following the home team’s consistent and solid performances, having only dropped four points including one loss in the season.

Fresh off from lifting the Singapore Cup trophy on home soil recently, DPMM FC will turn their attentions to the Singapore Cup in Group ‘B’ against leaders Hougang United at the Jalan Besar Stadium tomorrow.

The Brunei-based outfit, who currently lie in second place two points behind the Cheetahs, will conclude their group stage matches against defending champions Albirex Niigata (S) at the Jurong East Stadium on October 23.

DPMM FC remained in contention for qualification to the knock-out stages after striker Andrei Varankou rescued a last-gasp equaliser in the 1-1 draw against Geylang International.
