Persatuan Kemajuan Insan (KESAN) in cooperation with the Brunei Youth Council and the Youth and Sports Department held a badminton championship among youth movements at the Tutong Sports Complex.
The event was supported by the Brunei Darussalam National Badminton Association to foster closer ties among youth groups in Brunei besides encouraging a healthy lifestyle.
Seventeen youth movement bodies comprising non-governmental organisations, youth associations, social entrepreneurs, youth clubs, mosque youth groups and student representative councils from higher learning institutes participated.
The badminton championship was divided into two categories – the men’s doubles and women’s doubles.
Jerudong Park Medical Centre won the men’s doubles category followed by the Peer Guidance Group (PRR) of Sengkurong Sixth Form Centre and the Youth and Sports Department in second and third place.
Belia Cinta Tanah Air Programme won the women’s doubles category followed by the Badminton Club of Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) in second place and the Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) in third place.
President of the Brunei Youth Council Muhammad Aidil Firdaus bin Haji Jukin presented prizes to the winners.
