The President of BDTA said he was pleased with Brunei’s participation in the tournament and proud of their efforts and performances.
According to a press statement, Brunei won one tie in the tournament. Head coach Mohammad Aiman said the players worked very hard and were very positive throughout their training.
The tournament proved to be tougher than expected, however the head coach hopes to build on the momentum for future tournaments.
Among the countries competing in the tournament were Brunei Darussalam, People’s Republic of China, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Timor Leste.
Brunei Darussalam’s participation in the tournament served to expose the young players to a competitive setting in an overseas environment. It is hoped that with more experience, the players can improve their performance and set the stage for Brunei Darussalam’s tennis in the coming years.
