The Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex with the support of the eSports Association of Brunei (ESB), Telekom Brunei Berhad (TelBru), Aewon, Mong Graphx, and co-organised by the Triple A-Bn, The 6 OG and The H Force will be hosting ESports competitions on selected weekends starting today.
The event aims to build friendship and help foster an online community amongst the youth.
The ESB, who was recently established in April 2019, envisions Brunei Darussalam to be internationally recognised and could see eSports bringing a positive impact to the society, especially to the younger generations.
ESB is proactively raising the competitiveness of its local players to be able to compete with their international counterparts and to nurture the e-sports gaming scene.
This will hopefully empower and inspire the online community in Brunei Darussalam, especially the younger generations, on the creative opportunities and online content development, leveraging on technology.
There will be three categories of eSports games to be contested namely PlayerUnknowns Background (PUBG), Mobile Legends and Call of Duty (CoD).
The event will kick-start today and a prize ceremony for PUBG will be held this Sunday.
The competition period for Mobile Legends will be from December 6-8 while CoD will be held from January 24-26 next year.
