NFABD withdraw from JENESYS meet (2020)

BY Fadhil Yunus

The National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) has withdrawn from the JENESYS Football Festival Championship in Japan, slated to start on February 24, and will not send its youth U-18 national team.

This is as advised by the Prime Minister’s Office, the Embassy of Japan to Brunei Darussalam, the Embassy of Brunei Darussalam to Japan, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education; and considering DPMM FC’s withdrawal from some of the matches in the Singapore Premier League; also taking into account the players and officials who have to be quarantined upon their return.

NFABD decided to withdraw from the tournament based on the concerns for welfare and health for the team, especially the players as it may also affect their studies.
