Neymar's first-half penalty saw holders Barcelona beat Real Sociedad 1-0 in the Copa del Rey on Thursday, ending their curse at the Anoeta.

Barca had failed to win their last eight matches at the Basque venue going into the first leg of this quarter-final tie, with their last victory coming back in 2007.

The Red Devils posted record profits last season, making them the game's highest earners for the first time in over a decade




Manchester United have been named the world's highest grossing club in the 2015-16 edition of Deloitte’s Football Money League.

The study, which is the 20th annual check on the finances of the planet’s top clubs, has placed the Red Devils in pole position ahead of Barcelona and Real Madrid. Madrid slip to third having topped the standings when the previous edition was published 12 months ago.

Tom Carroll: Swansea City sign midfielder from Tottenham Hotspur

Tom Carroll made 18 appearances for Swansea during his 2014-15 season-long loan spell



Swansea City have completed the signing of Tottenham midfielder Tom Carroll for a fee thought to be about £4.5m.

The 24-year-old has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with the Swans.
