Germany beat Finland 2-0 in a low-key friendly in Monchengladbach which marked the final game in a Germany shirt for Bastian Schweinsteiger.

The Manchester United midfielder played 67 minutes of a game designated his testimonial before leaving the field to a standing ovation after picking up the 121st and last cap of his career.

Premier League clubs have now spent more than £1 billion on transfers in the summer window.

The league had already broken its own transfer record last week, when Manchester City's signing of Barcelona goalkeeper Claudio Bravo pushed clubs' gross spending up to £880 million -- topping the £870m of last summer.

West Brom have signed Belgium midfielder Nacer Chadli from Premier League rivals Tottenham on a four-year deal for a fee reported to be £13m.

The 27-year-old joined Spurs from Dutch side FC Twente for £7m in July 2013.

Hart set to complete Torino loan move

The England international has been given permission by the Football Association to leave the Three Lions training camp on Tuesday to finalise the switch.

Arsenal are willing to let England midfielder Jack Wilshere go out on loan to get first-team football.

The 24-year-old, whose career has been plagued by injuries, only made three appearances for the Gunners last season after fracturing his left fibula.
