Christmas came early for the game of golf last week, with Tiger Woods' successful return in the Bahamas the perfect present for anyone who considers themselves a fan of the sport.

Tellingly, the physical challenge of completing four competitive rounds for the first time in a year was not the issue for the former world number one. It was all about the standard of his game after a 301-day absence from competition.

Tiger Woods was forced to withdraw from his last tournament in February with back spasms



Fourteen-time major winner Tiger Woods continued his impressive return from injury with a four-under-par 68 in round two of the Hero World Challenge.

The American, 41, backed up an opening-round 69 with four birdies and an eagle, before two bogeys in the last seven holes saw him finish seven under.

Tiger Woods 'feeling fantastic' before return at Hero World Challenge

Woods won his first major - the Masters - in 1997 at the age of 21, but his last was in 2008



Former world number one Tiger Woods says he is "feeling fantastic" as he prepares to return to action at the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas.

The American, 41, has had multiple back operations in recent years and withdrew from his last tournament in Dubai in February with back spasms.

Tiger Woods to make competitive return at Hero World Challenge

Tiger Woods has not won a tournament since 2013



Tiger Woods will make his competitive return to golf after nine months out with injury at the Hero World Challenge from 30 November to 3 December.

The 14-time major champion, 41, is recovering from a fourth back operation in the past three years and has not played since withdrawing from February's Dubai Desert Classic.
